18TH AYUTTHAYA BUDDHA

Similar in style to the more elaborate and larger one in Gallery 4, this buddha has the same serene smile and presence that is part of a substyle from the period.  He has very simple, clean lines, and  modest demeanor.  There is a crack that has developed across the upper chest/neck area.  The piece is still structurally sound.  I have not attempted to close it, although it probably can be closed.  I would leave that to the buyer's choice.  It should properly be done by a trained conservator.
