19th CENTURY BURMESE BRONZE MON BUDDHA
Provincial style 19th century winged Mon buddha, with a halo. Dark brown-black patina. Stands 8” (20cm) tall. These more primitive buddhas, especially the Mon and Lao, bear some surprising similarities to certain types of African art. There are quite a few collectors of primitive buddhas, and this is a charming example.
