19TH C. BURMESE ALTARPIECE

This wonderful and massive altarpiece was acquired from a monastery in Burma.  It could easily be the focus of an entire room, or meditation space.  The buddha is in an Arakan style, and is solid cast (not hollow), and fits into  the back.  It came to us cracked all across the back plate at the level of the buddha's knee.   I have had a full internal custom stand made for it by a person who does displays for the Metropolitan Museum. This completely stabilizes it, and both the crack and the stand are barely visible, as can be seen from the photo (clips are waist level on the sides, and on both sides of the top.  The picture speaks for itself as to its power.  It stands a full 32 inches tall.  I think it is highly unlikely that I will ever have another one like this to sell, so do not miss out.  Price upon request.
