19th C. BRONZE BURMESE MONKS

Burmese monk statues are relatively common, both singly and in groups, but this is the best pair that I have ever seen.  They stand  14 ½” high, are quite substantial and heavy, and have a beautiful dark patina; much darker and richer than the photo. I was unable to capture this despite numerous attempts.  They also have very stylized and sweet faces.  They are not identical, but are a matched pair.  Condition is excellent.  These look wonderful flanking a large Buddha; or could stand individually, or as a pair.  They have great presence.
