18TH - 19TH C. KHMER SANDSTONE VOTIVE TABLET

These sandstone tablets are placed around the temple as commemoratives.  This votive is smaller than the one in the Archives, with a more folk type of style.  It is engraved on both sides in Pali, the ancient Buddhist language.  It stands 20 inches high, 23 inches with the base.  A compelling piece of Buddhist art.
