19TH C. JAPANESE BUDDHA

A lot of Japanese art is too cold and too perfect for me.  That is why I don't sell many Japanese buddhas.  However, I thought this one was a small masterpiece.   The flow of the base is just extraordinary, and the statue of Kannon has great character, especially considering the size. The entire statue, including the base, stands only 9 inches high.  The buddha (separate) stands 6 1/2 inches.  It is made out of a metal I am not certain of; I do not think it is bronze, although the statue may be.  On your desk, or a shelf, or as a meditation focus - a real jewel.
