18TH C. LAOTIAN/LANNA BRONZE BUDDHA

This interesting and charming buddha was found in the huge market in Bangkok.  It originates from the area of northern Thailand and Laos.  He has a typically Laotian face, and a fascinating finial, an individual characteristic that only Laotian buddhas have.  There are small areas of cuprite, which dates it to the 18th century most likely.  It stands 10 1.2 inches high, with a pleasing smooth brown patina. There is a casting flaw to the left hand, otherwise condition is excellent, with no losses.
