17TH - 18TH C. THAI BUDDHA HAND

You see many inferior quality buddha hands - copies and outright fakes.  This is the real thing.  It has wonderful proportions, and graceful fingers, and has been skillfully mounted on a custom stand.  The hand is in vitarka mudra, which represents "the gesture of debate" - explaining the buddha's teachings.  It stands 8 inches high, 11 inches with the base.  Comes with a copy of the original import document from 1962.
