19TH C. BURMESE THOUSAND BUDDHA AMULET COLLECTOR

Another item from our personal collection, which stood as the altar back for the large jeweled Mandalay buddha that is also for sale.  These function as temple decorations, or as the reredos for a large buddha, as pictured.  We would consider a package price for both pieces, since they look so wonderful together.  It was obtained right on the Burmese border, and had quite an odyssey to New York, as it ended up being held for ransom in Los Angeles.  Fortunately, it was freed and will delight a serious collector.  It stands  41 inches high with the custom base we hade made, and is made out of thick, heavy teak.  Beautiful patina on the wood.  The amulets are made of gilded bronze, I believe, and picture many buddhas in each one.  $3500
